erratic
The audio-visual performance erratic in collaboration with composer Richard Eigner reconstructs a topographic memory of the city of Vienna.

A Konvolut, a personal collection of three-dimensional objects and imagery was decontextualized so that the abstracted sediments of the city’s architecture and ornamental repletion were condensed into loosely morbid tableaux. This »iconic memory« underlying the piece was developed while participating in the Artist in Residence program at MuseumsQuartier and quartier21, at the invitation of Vienna Independent Shorts.
In its crackling and flickering form, the work also makes reference to the gas-lighting that disappeared from Vienna in 1962, fully replaced by electrical light sources. In collaboration with composer Richard Eigner, further »echoic memories« were added in the live performance of the piece. The project premiered on 9 June 2012 at Gartenbaukino as part of the closing night of the festival.
